PALO ALTO, Calif. – Santa Clara track & field posted some of the best times in program history at the Mike Fanelli Invitational and Stanford Invitational this weekend.
"What a weekend of racing. The team just keeps progressing and getting better all the time. Zach's 3000m mark is fourth best in the entire NCAA right now and only five seconds off the Olympic Trials mark. It was a great run by him. Ian's school record in the 10000m also has a great shot of qualifying for NCAA round one, same with Nicky's 5000m time. Ishaan continues to impress as well. Hayelom and Dion also had really good performances. It was also great to have Alex back after missing a lot of training with a hamstring issue. I'm excited for his next race."
Head coach Felipe Montoro
"An incredible weekend of racing. We got done what we wanted to do. Everyone did a great job competing, and when we do that well the times come too.
A new school for JJ in the 800 is the highlight, but all around a good weekend for us."
Associate head coach Pete Cushman
