SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- The Santa Clara University men's basketball team will be looking to keep its current hot shooting streak alive Wednesday when it travels to Fresno to face the Bulldogs of Fresno State. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Selland Arena.

The Broncos are 3-1 on the season, which equals the program's best start in the last eight seasons and ties the best-ever for veteran head coach Dick Davey. After winning its first three games of the season, Santa Clara dropped a tight 71-69 decision at home to rival San Jose State for its first loss to the Spartans since 1996.

Fresno State enters the game with a 2-0 mark following Saturday's 67-65 win at home against Saint Mary's in the championship game of theMcCaffrey Classic. The Bulldogs opened the season with a 65-53 win against Idaho State. Wednesday night's contest will mark the third-straight home game for Fresno State and new coach Ray Lopes.

The game will be broadcast live on the Bronco Radio Network, which consists of 1640 KDIA AM, 103.3 KSCU FM and the Internet by clicking here.

Santa Clara is led by junior guard Kyle Bailey's 16.7 points and 3.3 assists per game. The all-West Coast Conference guard recorded a season-high 20 points in a 69-66 win over Montana State and is a perfect 16-for-16 from the free throw line in his first three games. Freshman guard Brandon Rohe is one of several outside shooting threats for the Broncos, averaging 15.5 points per game and connecting on over 54 percent of his three-point attempts.

Senior guard Damon Jackson is Fresno State's leading scorer, leading three players in double figures with an average 13.5 points per game. Jackson is also the team's leading rebounder, pulling down an average of 7.5 boards per game.

Following the Fresno State contest, the Broncos return to the Leavey Center Saturday for a contest against the University of Washington. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. against the Huskies and first-year head coach Lorenzo Romar.
