SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Santa Clara beach volleyball released its 2020 schedule on Thursday, announced by head coach Erin Lindsey. The Broncos are due for the most competitions in program history, including two home duals at the Santa Clara Beach Volleyball Courts and four matchups against West Coast Conference opponents in the regular season.
"I am really excited about this 2020 beach season and the future of our program," associate head coach Jeff Alzina said. "Our schedule is very competitive this year with many top-ranked opponents and we added home-and-away matchups against local conference teams. Our program continues to grow and improve every month and it's an exciting time to be a part of our Bronco Beach team."
FEBRUARY
The Broncos begins the season with five duals in three days Feb. 21-23, taking on Oregon, Ottawa (Arizona), UC Davis, San José State and Grand Canyon in an event hosted by the Spartans. The Broncos play a Feb. 28 tripleheader at Irvine Valley College, followed by a Feb. 29 matchup at Long Beach State.
MARCH
The turn of the month brings the first home dual and first WCC tilt of the season against Pacific on March 4. Following a three-dual slate in Santa Cruz, California on March 7, the Broncos host their second and final home dual against WCC foe Saint Mary's on March 10. The team rounds out the month with three more competitions, including facing Washington and Arizona in Pismo Beach, California on March 25.
APRIL
Santa Clara hits the road for midweek conference matchups at Pacific (April 7) and Saint Mary's (April 14) to bookend a three-dual day at Stanford (April 11). The West Coast Conference Championship is slated for April 17-18 at Ocean Park Beach in Santa Monica, California.
