SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Santa Clara beach volleyball fell 5-0 against Saint Mary's in its home finale Wednesday at the SCU Beach Volleyball Courts.
Michelle Shaffer/Kathryn Decker picked up a set at the top position for the Broncos (3-11), where Sienna Young/Jasmine Suarez clinched the dual with a 21-15, 18-21, 15-13 win.
The Gaels (4-4) won for the fourth straight outing.
"The Saint Mary's ball control on offense and tough serving was too much for us today," associate head coach Jeff Alzina said. "We generally played catch-up in most of the matches when it was too late to overtake them. Decker and Shaffer had a high-level battle at the ones and competed well."
