SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Santa Clara beach volleyball will bid for its fourth win in five duals on Tuesday afternoon when the Broncos host Saint Mary's in a West Coast Conference matchup. First serve for the second and final home dual of the season is set for 4 p.m. at the SCU Beach Volleyball Courts.

The Broncos (3-10) won three of four duals last week, including the first home victory on the Mission campus in program history Wednesday. Santa Clara bounced back from two sets down to top the Tigers 3-2. The team defeated Cal State Bakersfield 3-2 and Sacramento State 4-1 on Saturday at the Big West/WCC Challenge in Santa Cruz, California.

Kathryn Decker/Michelle Shaffer have played all 13 matches at the top spot and lead the Broncos with six match wins. The pairs of Claire Doud/Brynn Paumen (No. 3) and Elizabeth Held/Alex Anthony (No. 4) are 3-1 in their last four matches.

The Gaels (3-4) went 3-0 at the Big West/WCC Challenge. They fell in their first four duals of the year, all against ranked opposition.

"We are excited coming off two solid weekend wins," associate head coach Jeff Alzina said. "Saint Mary's is always tough; we've improved since our battle with them last season. The rain forecast has diminished, but we've prepared for any conditions we have."
