Women’s Tennis Picks Up Six Wins at CSUF Titan Invitational on Friday

CSUF Titan Invitational - Friday, Jan. 18 Results

FULLERTON, Calif. – Santa Clara women's tennis went 6-4 overall on Friday's first day of competition at the Cal State Fullerton Titan Invitational, going 2-1 in doubles and 4-3 in singles.  Sophomore Nadine Del Carmen and freshman Jamie Schroer each picked up wins in singles and doubles.  
 
Del Carmen and Schroer partnered to win the doubles match against host, CSUF's Tiani Jadulang and Luxizi Meng, 6-4, in the hidden dual match format tournament.  The other Broncos doubles win came from Elvena Gevargiz and Caitlyn Frankel who defeated the Titans' Jadie Acidera and Caisey Lee Emery, 6-2.  
 
Maddie Pothoff and Katya Tabachnik fell to Sarah Nuno and Eira Tobrand of Cal State Fullerton.  
 
In the afternoon singles matches, the Broncos picked up two straight set wins over Arizona with Schroer beating Taylor Tamblyn, 6-2, 6-1, and Pothoff taking care of Csenge Furak, 6-4, 6-2.  
 
In other singles action, Del Carmen handled Pacific's Hannah Ketcherside, 6-3, 6-3, and Lindsey Pesqueira won 6-3, 6-2, over Sabrina Rodriguez of Pacific.  
 
The Broncos return to action at 9 a.m. on Saturday in the second day of competition.

10:15 a.m. – Cal State Fullerton vs Santa Clara (singles)
