Women’s Tennis Set to Host Southeastern Louisiana and UC Davis
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's tennis is set to host Southeastern Louisiana on Thursday and a makeup match with UC Davis on Sunday as it looks to play both its scheduled weekend matches for the first time in the dual match season.

This spring, the rain has wreaked havoc on the Santa Clara schedule postponing three matches and delaying the start of three others.

One of the postponed matches against UC Davis (2-5) will be made up on Sunday at Noon for a match that was originally scheduled to be played back on Feb. 3.

But before that, the Broncos will host Southeastern Louisiana (3-3) on Thursday at 2 p.m.

"It will be nice to be playing at home.  Hopefully, we won't have to deal with the rain as right now, there's none in the forecast for Thursday," said Broncos head coach Ben Cabell.

The Broncos (1-3) are coming off a 4-1 loss to Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo on Saturday where it lost the doubles point to a tiebreak and was ahead in two singles matches before the Mustangs clinched the victory.

"The weather was really difficult down there as we had to stop and start.  We were scheduled to start at 10 a.m. and did not finish until 5 p.m., but the players played hard," said Cabell.  "So we had a bit of a bad luck with the weather but we need to able to deal with adversity and the team will learn from it."
