COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Santa Clara volleyball freshman outside hitter Julia Sangiacomo has been named to the U.S. Women's Collegiate National Team – Anaheim roster.
The CNT Anaheim will train June 21-27 in Anaheim at the American Sports Center and will compete side-by-side with the U.S. Women's National Team as it makes final preparations for the Tokyo Olympic Games.
In total, 56 CNT athletes were selected through the U.S. Women's National Team Open Tryouts held Feb. 21-23 at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Sangiacomo turned in a standout debut season for the 21-win Broncos in 2019, picking up Second Team All-West Coast Conference and WCC All-Freshman Team accolades. The Sonoma, California native ranked fourth in the conference with 372 kills (3.38/set) and third with 445 total points, all of which were tops among WCC freshmen and a Bronco-best for the season. Sangiacomo posted double-digit kills in 22 of 31 matches and had five double-doubles.
