SAN MATEO, Calif. — Santa Clara volleyball's West Coast Conference schedule is set, as announced by the conference on Friday. The Broncos open WCC play Jan. 26 at Loyola Marymount and the first home match is Feb. 9 against Pepperdine.

Any nonconference competitions will be announced once they are finalized. The NCAA announced in September that the first official date of volleyball competition is Jan. 22, 2021. Last August, the WCC postponed the 2020 fall seasons for its member institutions due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Each WCC matchup will feature matches on back-to-back days in the same venue. The lone exception comes in the last two days of the regular season — the Broncos travel to San Francisco on March 26 and host the Dons on March 27. Santa Clara's full conference schedule is as follows:

Jan. 26/27 at Loyola Marymount

Feb. 2/3 at BYU

Feb. 9/10 vs Pepperdine

Feb. 16/17 vs San Diego

Feb. 23/24 at Pacific

March 5/6 vs Portland

March 12/13 at Gonzaga

March 19/20 vs Saint Mary's

March 26 at San Francisco

March 27 vs San Francisco

The NCAA Volleyball Championship will consist of a 48-team bracket this season. Selections for the tournament will occur on April 4, culminating with the Final Four on April 22 and 24 in Omaha, Nebraska. The WCC's regular-season champion will earn the conference's automatic qualification to the tournament.

Santa Clara went 21-12 overall under first-year head coach Erin Lindsey in 2019. The Broncos reached the postseason for the first time since 2015 and won their first postseason match since 2008 with an opening-round victory at Long Beach State in the NIVC.

The team returns three student-athletes that played in all 33 matches last year: sophomore outside hitter Julia Sangiacomo (led SCU with 411 kills, Second Team All-WCC, WCC All-Freshman Team), senior libero Gretchen Reinert (led SCU with 452 digs, played in all 124 sets) and junior setter/opposite Michelle Shaffer (Honorable Mention All-WCC).
