Head Coach Cameron Rast
On Connor Mitchell's goal:
"Connor is someone who got injured right before our first road trip. He is someone that we are hoping to rely on a bit and to go into his very first game and to play the way he did in a game of this caliber is great. He was crafty and looked experienced and confident. I'm proud of his performance tonight."
On the game:
"We played well enough tonight to get the win, but it came down to the last 49 seconds and in moments like those you have to get behind the ball and knock it forward and challenge everything, and we didn't do that. Connor [Mitchell] and Jalil [Anibaba] played a good game tonight. If we could name a "Man of the Match," it would be Jalil. He just did an incredible job once again."
On what the team needs to do to prepare for UCLA next week:
"We need to become confident on the road. We are a team that is still trying to find its identity. We played a lot of different guys tonight and tried a lot of different combinations. What we need to find is the right 20-man combination to take on the road and to get us going."
Freshman Connor Mitchell
On his first career goal:
"It was pretty exciting. The ball got dropped back to Jeff Cosgriff and he just looked at me and I got ahead of their defender. He placed a beautiful ball for me."
