SANTA CLARA, Calif.Robert Seby and Andrew Gu claimed victories at the top two singles spots and each had a hand in the gaining the doubles point for Santa Clara men's tennis, which posted a come-from-behind 4-3 victory over Fresno State on Saturday.

Trailing 3-2, Gu earned a 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 win on court two against the Bulldogs' Euan McIntosh just moments before Seby defeated Xander Veys at the No. 1 position to help Santa Clara (10-2) remain a perfect 8-0 at home this spring.

Connor Garnett had the other singles win for the Broncos, downing Zdenek Derkas of Fresno State (8-8) in straight sets (6-4, 6-4) on the No. 3 court.

"In singles, we knew it was going to be a real, real, long day," Santa Clara head coach Niall Angus said. "They're a good team and we've had some tough battles with them in the past. To see Rob, Connor and Andrew come up really big in important times. It was good to see that leadership on the team."

Mantas Bugailiskis dispatched Santa Clara's Kamran Khan 6-1, 6-1 at No. 6 singles and H. W. Osorio followed by defeating Jesus Tapiador Barajas 6-2, 6-4 on court No. 4 to help Fresno State build a 2-1 lead.

Garnett's win knotted the match at 2-all and Youssef Hassan's 7-5, 6-2 victory over Santa Clara's Vasileios Iliopoulos set up the dramatic ending at Deghheri Tennis Center.

Gu teamed with Kamran Khan at No. 3 doubles and that duo knocked off Hassan and Zdenek Derkas 6-3. Seby and Tapiador Barajas followed with a 6-2 on court two to earn the first point of the match.

"It was a really good team performance," Angus said.  "We got after it pretty quick with the win at doubles. The energy was high."

The Broncos return to West Coast Conference play Saturday when Portland visits town. The following day, Santa Clara faces Gonzaga. The Broncos are 0-1 in league play after dropping a 4-2 decision at BYU on March 4.
