Bronco Women's Golf Playing Final Round at Monarch Dunes

Bronco Women's Golf Playing Final Round at Monarch Dunes

NIPOMO, Calif. – Taylor Camany and Balbina Guajardo are among the leaderboard's top 15 at the Firestone Grill Cal Poly Invitational at Monarch Dunes Golf Club, which concludes today in Nipomo. Camany and Guajardo shot opening-round 77's and Brooke Stephens posted a team-best 76 Sunday morning.

The Broncos are currently in fifth place entering final round play Monday. SCU went without the services of all-league senior Tamara Surtees in round one due to illness.

"I was really proud of them, they fought hard and took advantage of some great opportunities," said Santa Clara head coach Krystal Kelly about Sunday's play. "They shot 311 in the first round and that could have easily been five to six shots less. The second round all five players teed it up, but we struggled to focus on the 'process', which resulted in lots of missed opportunities."

The Broncos finished their last holes in the dark Sunday and will be back on the course Monday morning. Check back later for complete tournament results.
