Two Women’s Golfers Placed on WCC All-Academic Team

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Santa Clara's Annie Freman and Kristin Le were among the 10 student-athletes named to the 2016-17 WCC Women's Golf All-Academic team.

Freman and Le helped lead the team to three titles this season while continuing their impressive performances in the classroom.

Freman, a senior, maintains a 3.29 grade-point average in accounting and Le, a junior, possesses a 3.56 GPA, also in the Leavey School of Business.

Le, who also earned a spot on the 2015-16 WCC All-Academic team, played in all 10 events, finishing in the top 10 seven times, including a victory, the second of her career, at the Lady Mustang Invitational (Oct. 22-23). She posted a team-best stoke average of 74.34 with nine of her 29 rounds even or under par on the season.

Freman was in the top 10 in five events, including a victory in the Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate (Oct. 1-2), which extended her school record to six. She was under par in six of her 29 rounds this year with stroke average of 74.72, second on the team.

To be considered for the league academic honors, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while also being a significant contributor to his team.
