Women's Soccer Partners with GPSports

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's soccer recently announced a partnership with Globally Positioning Sport (GPSports). The Broncos will be using the SPI HPU unit and SPI IQ software in their training and conditioning.

"Having a science background myself, I have a great appreciation for the data that will be collected through the heart monitors and GPS system," said Santa Clara head coach Jerry Smith. "I am looking forward to using the information we get to perform at a higher level and have fewer injuries on the field."

"We are excited to partner with GPSports and feel that it will support our overall physical development and performance qualities," said Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach Daniel Hicker. "We will begin utilizing the system this summer as we prepare for the upcoming fall season. This will be a vital contribution towards our efforts to further identify specific needs surrounding team, group, and individual physical readiness and recovery"

Since 2006 the Broncos rank in the top-eight NCAA programs in producing professional players. Santa Clara is the only school in NCAA history to twice have both its men's and women's soccer programs ranked No. 1 simultaneously.
