Meet the Future of Bronco Women’s Soccer: Gracie Cutler

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - With preparations being made for the upcoming season, the Santa Clara women's soccer team welcomes Gracie Cutler from the 2015 signing class to the Broncos' roster. Cutler is from Fort Collins, Colo. and is already enrolled in courses at the university.

"We are excited that Gracie is in our 2015 class," said Santa Clara head coach Jerry Smith. "We are enjoying her already being on campus. She's integrating herself very well into our team and will be able to fill some of the void in our forward line left by Sofia Huerta's graduation."

Attending Fossil Ridge High School, Cutler competed as a three-sport athlete, playing soccer, basketball and track and field. She helped lead the Sabercats to an undefeated league record during her junior year while picking up the conference Player of the Year award and First Team All-State honors in the process. As a sophomore, she was named to the Second Team All-State list while propelling her squad to a final four appearance in postseason play. On the track, Cutler continued her athletic prowess, becoming an All-Conference honoree during her freshman and sophomore years.

Looking to add to her high school achievements, Cutler wishes to one day win a national title, compete in the U-20 FIFA Women's World Cup, play professionally and compete full time with the United States Women's National Team.

"I chose Santa Clara for a variety of reasons but the main attraction to me was the women's soccer team," said Cutler. "I am striving for a national championship and I felt most confident in Santa Clara to fulfill that aspiration. Aside from the team and the coaches, I also chose Santa Clara for its tight knit community and beautiful campus."

In her free time away from the pitch, Cutler enjoys dancing and rapping.
