Santa Clara's women's tennis team continued play at the Cal Nike Invitational on Sunday with senior Alex Zaniewski winning the Gold ITA Singles Consolation Finals when her opponent withdrew due to injury.

"I am really proud of the team this weekend at Cal," said Bronco head coach Ben Cabell. "This is the best showing we have ever had at Cal.  It was a fantastic effort by Katie Le and Alex Zaniewski in the top flight.  The rest of the team fought hard during the three-day weekend.  It's a great sign of things to come for our season."

Zaniewski defeated Fresno State's Olga Kirpicheva 6-3 and 6-4 in the semi-finals.
