Santa Clara, Calif. — For the season-opener of the 2013 regular season, the Santa Clara women's tennis team hosts UC Santa Cruz during its first home match at the Degheri Tennis Center on the Mission campus on Sat., Jan. 26th at 12:00 p.m.

"After the three-day round robin event, the team and I have high expectations for our first home match of the regular season. Every girl put in the hard work over the weekend and knows that they can play through tough three-set matches against any good ranked player," said head coach Ben Cabell. "In addition, we have added two freshman to the team Delphine Rouvillois and Chelby Cooke that will help take our team to the next level."

The Banana Slugs

From Santa Cruz, Calif., the Banana Slugs are ranked No. 30 in NCAA Division III. Alexandra Scotten is ranked No. 34 in Division III by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association and plays at the No. 1 singles spot for the Slugs. Santa Cruz is coming off a 7-0 loss to Cal Poly on January 13th.

Last Weekend: Cal Winter Invite
