SANTA CLARA, Calif.—The Broncos first travel to Tempe, Ariz. to take on No. 33 University of Arizona on Sat., Feb. 16 at 11 a.m. Then the following day, Sun., Feb. 17, the team travels to Phoenix, Ariz. to go up against No. 28 Arizona State at 11 a.m.

Santa Clara head coach Ben Cabell and the Broncos (2-2) are coming off of two heartbreaking losses this past weekend at home, both ending in a score of 4-3 to San Jose State and No. 52 Fresno State.

The highlight on the weekend was when freshman Chelby Cooke trumped Fresno's Anne Susdorf in a three-set tiebreaker to tally her first official collegiate win 6-4, 1-6, 7-6(9-7). In addition, doubles duo Stephanie Skaras and Delphine Rouvillois improved their stellar overall record to 4-0 for the 2013 regular season.

On Tuesday, Feb. 12, Broncos' own junior Katie Le moved up one spot in the rankings to No. 25 by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. Even though Le dropped her second match of the 2013 dual season to Klaudia Boczova of San Jose State this weekend by a score of 2-6, 7-5, 7-6(7-1), she battled back the following day to defeat Aishwarya Agrawal of Fresno 6-1, 6-4.

Le's biggest triumph of the year was when she upset then-No. 9 Anett Schutting of Cal at the Cal Winter Invite 6-3, 6-1 on Jan. 20. The 2012 WCC Player of the Year's overall singles record for the 2013 regular season is 4-2.

No. 33 University of Arizona

The Wildcats (4-3) will host No. 52 Fresno State (4-2) on Fri., Feb. 15 at 1:30 p.m. MST and Santa Clara (2-2) on Saturday at 11 a.m. Arizona recently lost to No. 40 San Diego— a WCC for of the Broncos—by a score of 4-2 on Feb. 9. Their top player, junior Lacey Smyth, is riding a 6-1 singles record at the No. 1 spot and is coming off a three-match winning streak, including one victory over a ranked opponent.

No. 28 Arizona State

The Sun Devil's (4-1) are coming off of a 7-0 victory against San Jose State on Feb. 13. They also beat UC Davis on Jan. 20 by a score of 7-0. Freshman Desirae Krawczyk is currently ranked No. 120 by the ITA. Before the host Santa Clara on Sun., Feb. 17, they compete against No. 52 Fresno State on Sat., Feb. 16.
