Bringing more than 22 years of coaching tennis to the Mission campus, Blake Mosley has been hired as an assistant coach with the Bronco women's tennis program as announced by head coach Ben Cabell.  Mosley comes to Santa Clara after spending five years as the head women's tennis coach at Chaminade University in Hawaii.

"We are really excited to have Blake join the program," said Bronco head women's coach Ben Cabell. "He comes to us with a ton of experience both coaching high-level juniors and at the collegiate level.  He will be a great addition to our team and he will add to an already successful program."

"I am looking forward to joining the Broncos, a real up and coming Division I tennis program on the West Coast," said Mosley.  "I love the excitement of NCAA tennis and I hope to contribute to the team's goal of making the NCAA tournament this season.  In the two weeks I have been here, the team has been responsive.  Coach Cabell and I have the same coaching philosophy and work well together."

The 2010 ITA West Region Coach of the Year, Mosley put his stamp on the Silverswords in his five years at Chaminade.  In his first year at Chaminade, the team had more wins that season than all previous season's combined. The Swords also finished as high as third in the Pac West Conference (2010).   

Mosley started as a Head Tennis Professional at Padre Isles Country Club in Texas and was an NCAA assistant at Texas A&M Corpus Christi.  He also coached and competed in Austria and Switzerland. Coach Mosley has also been certified via the US Professional Tennis Association at the level of Pro I.

Mosley (the player) was ranked the No. 3 men's player in the Texas Open Division in 1999 before heading to Europe.  Starting in 1999, after coaching at Texas A&M Corpus Christi under current Texas A&M head tennis coach Steve Moore, Mosley travelled to Austria to play professionally. He played No. 1 singles and doubles for TC Goetzens in the Austrian Club League while coaching many rising stars in Austria. In Austria, Mosley was a sparring partner for Sylvia Plischke, who was ranked No. 29 WTA.

Mosley moved on to Switzerland to continue playing and coaching.  There he played No. 1 singles and doubles for TC Pfaffikersee. He also served as a travelling coach at the International Tennis Academy in Switzerland and was the sparring partner of Patricia Mayr-Achleitner, who is currently ranked No. 151 WTA.

Mosley played his collegiate tennis at College of Charleston from 1991-95, playing No. 3 singles and No. 1 and 2 doubles.  He completed a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1996.

A native of Riverside, Calif., Mosley attended Flower Bluff High School in Corpus Christi.

He has been married one year to the former Aline Sartori of Florianopolis, Brazil.
