Head Coach Mark O'Brien
On the game:
"Our pitching and defense have helped us out a lot so far and it was no different tonight. Donald came out and did a great job, Sean held it, and Steve and Jeff did their thing. We always feel pretty good when the ball is in those guys' hands in the late innings."
On the team's confidence being high after getting the early three runs:
"We've been struggling getting guys in this year, but with Ryan getting the big hit for us early, it really helped our confidence and broke the ice for us, so to speak."
Junior closer Jeff Lombard
On the bullpen coming through and holding the lead:
"It was big, we've been struggling as of late, and any victory we can get is all good right now."
On the confidence of the pitching staff after making the 3-0 lead hold up:
"As pitchers we can't really worry about how the offense is doing, each guy just needs to go out there and try to throw up a zero or limit the damage if he comes into a bad situation. We just have to take what the offense gives us and do our job."
On the snagging the line drive for the final out of the game:
"I decided to challenge [Mendonca] with a fastball and he hit it pretty good and I ended up catching it. It was just one of those things."
