Midwest League All-Star Game Wrap-Up
SANTA CLARA - Former Santa Clara baseball standout Michael Thompson took part in the Midwest League All-Star game in Geneva, Ill. Tuesday night, popping out the third base in his only at-bat as his West squad was defeated 8-2 by the East team.
On the season, Thompson is batting .230 with 12 doubles and is tied for the league lead with 14 home runs and leads his Burlington Bees squad with 38 RBIs. Thompson joined the Bees, a Class A Advanced affiliate of the Kansas City Royals, earlier this season after having his contract purchased from the Reno Silver Sox of the independent Golden Baseball League.
