WCC Sets the Men's Basketball Schedule

2020-21 Schedule

SAN BRUNO, Calif. - The Santa Clara men's basketball team has one portion of its 2020-21 schedule set as the West Coast Conference announced the 16-game slate.

The nonconference schedule will be released once finalized. The NCAA announced last month that teams may begin competition on Nov. 25.

League games will continue to be played on Thursdays and Saturdays with the Broncos opening with a home contest against Loyola Marymount on Jan. 2 and ending on the road against rival San Francisco (Feb. 27).

The Broncos are coming off their first 20-win season in seven years and return seven of their top nine scorers, including six players who started at least 15 games. Senior Josip Vrankic was an All-WCC pick last season while senior DJ Mitchell and junior Keshawn Justice were two of the top three 3-point shooting threats in the league.

Before his injury at the beginning of conference play, junior Guglielmo Caruso was among the most productive and efficient big men on the West Coast. Jaden Bediako was a member of the WCC All-Freshman team and Jalen Williams proved to be one of the most explosive first-year players in the league.

Highlights of the schedule include a four-game homestand beginning Feb. 11 with a matchup against Gonzaga. The final home game is a matchup is against Pepperdine on Feb. 20.

The WCC Tournament is set for March 4-9 at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas.

Tickets are not yet on sale, but contact the Santa Clara Athletics ticket office at (408) 554-4660 or BroncoTickets@scu.edu with questions.
