SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara men's soccer announced the first member of the 2023 recruiting class, Martin Kwende Jr., a left winger out of Archbishop Mitty High School in San Jose, California.
"I chose Santa Clara because it was a good fit for me and the coaches showed a lot of interest," said Kwende Jr.
The 5-foot-11 Kwende Jr. plays club soccer for the San Jose Earthquakes Academy and was part of the National Team regional camp call-up for the U14.
In the classroom, Kwende Jr. made the honor roll in the 11th grade.
"Martin is not only physically ready to play at the collegiate level, but is playing at an older level in the Earthquakes organization gaining valuable experience," said Broncos head coach Cam Rast. "He has the ability to go by players athletically and will be a force to contend with in our attack."
Our next future Bronco, Keagan Rhodes, will be announced on Monday.
