SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara men's tennis kicks off a four-match homestand when it hosts San Francisco in a West Coast Conference match on Saturday and Cal Poly in a nonconference match on Sunday.  First serve for both matches are at 11 a.m.

The Broncos (12-6, 3-3 WCC) will look to bounce back in the friendly confines of the Degheri Tennis Center coming off two losses on the road to San Diego State and San Diego last week.

"It was a difficult trip as we probably looked a little bit towards USD rather than the San Diego State match at hand and that cost us with a poor start," said Broncos head coach Niall Angus.  "The next day we tried to rebound after a match that you put a lot of energy into and that proved to be difficult.  On top of that playing against a very good USD team at their courts, we needed to play a strong doubles point but we didn't.  So we were fighting an uphill battle from that point.  But now we have a chance to regroup at home."

SCU is 7-1 at home this season but lost its last home match against Gonzaga on March 30.  It was the only loss the Broncos have suffered at the Degheri Tennis Center in two seasons.  Last year's home loss against Pacific was played in Burlingame, California inside the Broadway Tennis Center due to the weather.

San Francisco (3-13, 0-6 WCC) enters the match on an eight-match losing streak and are winless in conference play.

Cal Poly (11-7) plays UC Riverside on Saturday before facing the Broncos as they have won two straight.  The Mustangs are 4-4 on the road this season including a win against a WCC school in Pacific, beating the Tigers 4-1 on April 7.  It was the second win over an WCC opponent having beaten San Francisco, 4-1 back in early February.
