Men’s Tennis Sweeps Marquette, 7-0, on Sunday
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara men's tennis easily dispatched Marquette, 7-0 on Sunday to earn its second win of the weekend with the match clincher by freshman Arthur Neuhaus on court six.  
 
Santa Clara (9-3) dominated play dropping just one set en route to sweeping the Golden Eagles (7-6) to remain undefeated at home.  
 
On court one, Robert Seby and Andrew Gu defeated Alvaro Verdu and Brett Meyers, 6-4 to clinch the doubles point.  
 
The Broncos blitzed through singles play with straight set wins by Connor Garnett, Andrew Gu before the clincher by Neuhaus.  
 
On court three, Connor Garnett took care of Luis Hereida Gomez, 6-1, 6-0 and Gu beat Verdu, 7-5, 6-0 to give the Broncos a 3-0 advantage in the team score.  
 
With the team outcome already decided, the match between Jesus Tapiador Barajas and Luke Smrek on court two went three sets.  Tapiador Barajas dropped the first set before coming back to win, 1-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-7).  
 
The win served as the final tune up before Santa Clara enters the heart of its West Coast Conference slate starting on Friday at Saint Mary's.
