DAVIS, Calif. / TULSA, Okla. – Santa Clara men's tennis had a strong showing over the fall season opening weekend where junior Mann Shah captured the singles title at the Aggie Invitational and Guillaume Dalmasso advanced to the round of 32 at the All-American Championships.
Shah won four-straight matches on the Marya Welch Tennis Center courts in Davis, California including a straight set win over Andrei Volgin 7-6 (7-2), 6-4 in the finals to win the top-flight singles bracket.
Meanwhile, playing in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Dalmasso won three matches before falling to Arizona's Carlos Hassey 7-5, 6-4 in the round 32.
In all, the Broncos racked up 19 single wins over the weekend playing in the two tournaments.
Nick Cmager picked up three wins at the Aggie Invitational, all coming in the consolation bracket.
Along with Dalmasso, Arthur Neuhaus also participated in the All-American Championships where he defeated Texas A&M's Stefan Storch in three sets, 5-7, 6-1, 6-1, in the consolation draw.
