BRIDGEPORT, Pa. – The Santa Clara men's water polo team and eight of its players were honored by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC).
Arvin Bahia, Mac Carey, Blake D'Souza, Patrick Guinn, Shane Hughes, Jake Landrum, Adam Low and Judge Washer earned spots on the 2019 ACWPC All-Academic Team.
Divided into three teams based on cumulative grade-point average, athletes receive Outstanding (3.71-4.00), Superior (3.41-3.70) or Excellent (3.20-3.40) distinction.
A total of 450 athletes were named to the team with the ACWPC awarding 137 Outstanding, 171 Superior and 142 Excellent accolades.
Bahia and Landrum were named Outstanding; Carey, D'Souza, Guinn, Low and Washer were Superior; Hughes was Excellent.
The team was recognized, along with 24 other schools, for achieving a GPA of at least 3.00. The Broncos had a 3.04 GPA for the term.
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete's head coach must be a member of the ACWPC.
