Broncos Head To New Jersey For Princeton Invitational

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Santa Clara men's water polo is set to take part in the Princeton Invitational in Princeton, N.J. this Saturday and Sunday. The competition begins on Saturday against a pair of ranked teams with the Broncos taking on 20th-ranked Navy at 8:45 a.m. PT before taking on No. 10 Princeton at 1:45 p.m. PT.

NOTES
• Santa Clara (0-1) is coming off a tough 10-8 loss against No. 9 San Jose State in their 2022 opener.
• The Broncos return 17 players that saw the stat sheet in the 2021 season, including the top two goal scorers in Zach Fales (44) and Cody Ferguson (41), both of whom earned all-conference honors at season's end. 
• There are a total of seven newcomers on the roster this season. 
• Redshirt junior goalkeeper Chase Zamborelli will be tasked with taking on keeper duties again this fall after splitting time in the net with Sean Tehaney last season.
• Santa Clara is led by head coach Keith Wilbur, entering his 21st season at the helm of the program.

LAST TIME OUT
• Zamborelli made 11 stops in the net and the Broncos outscored San Jose State 5-0 in the final quarter, but ultimately was unable to make up enough ground to complete the comeback, falling 10-8 in both teams' opener in Saratoga on Sept. 3.
