Broncos Take Down Brown, 13-8, On Final Day of JFM

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Santa Clara sophomore men's water polo player Zach Fales had one of the best games of his young career on Sunday, scoring a career-best five goals to go with a pair of assists and one steal as he helped power men's water polo to a 13-8 victory over Brown.

Fales, an attacker from La Jolla, Calif., finished with a game-high seven points in the winning effort. He topped his previous career high of four goals set last season against Harvard on Oct. 23, 2021.

Fales teamed up with Ford Eldredge, who had a hat trick of his own with three goals, to account for eight of Santa Clara's 13 points on the day as the Broncos led from start to finish. Santa Clara held a 6-3 advantage at halftime and added seven golas in the second half as they cruised to their second-straight win of the Julian Fraser Memorial Tournament. With the victory, the Broncos improve to 8-11 on the year and will return to action on Thursday on the road against UC Davis.

Satna Clara played a solid defensive game overall with Chase Zamborelli doing outstanding work in the net. The redshirt junior finished with 11 saves in 32 minutes of work.

Santa Clara finishes their time as the host of the Julian Fraser Memorial Tournament with a 2-2 record with victories over Brown and Bucknell (13-11) and two losses to No. 9 Princeton (16-8) and No. 14 Harvard (15-13).
