Eldredge Named WWPA Player of the Week

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Santa Clara men's water polo attacker Ford Eldredge has been named the Western Water Polo Association Player of the Week. He is the second Bronco to win the award this year.

Eldredge came up big on both ends for the Broncos against Air Force and Fresno Pacific. The redshirt junior tallied six goals, two assists and three steals across the two contests as he helped lead Santa Clara to a 2-0 mark on the week to close out the regular season with three-straight victories and five wins in their final six games. He had a career-best five goals to go with two steals and an assist in SCU's huge 14-9 victory over Air Force, and followed with another goal and assist in the Broncos' 16-6 rout over Pacific in the season finale.

The San Diego native joins teammate Chase Raisin, who won the award for the week of Oct. 13, as the second Bronco to win the award this season.

He and the Broncos will look to continue their hot streak at the WWPA Championships hosted by LMU. The event will take place from Nov. 18-20 in Los Angeles.
