Four Broncos Earn All-WWPA Honors

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Santa Clara men's water polo had four student-athletes honored by the Western Water Polo Association on Thursday. Ford Eldredge was named a second team All-WWPA selection, Zach Fales and Dominick Kirk earned spots on the honorable mention team, and Reese Jenican was named to the conference's all-freshman team. 

Eldredge did a little of everything to help contribute to the Broncos' success this year, finishing the year with 36 goals, 20 assists, 17 steals and 11 kick-outs drawn. He was named the WWPA Player of the Week in the final week of action after posting a career-high five goals in SCU's win over Air Force. 

Fales led the team with 38 goals and 93 shot attempts while adding 33 assists, 15 steals and 18 kick-outs drawn. 

Kirk led the team with 39 assists and tallied 29 goals on 68 attempts. He also came away with 11 steals and drew 17 kick-outs. 

Jenican impressed in his debut year with the program, playing in all 23 games with one start. He finished second on the squad in kick-outs drawn (22) and tallied 11 goals, seven steals and three assists. 

The Broncos, who finished the year by winning five of their last six games, are the No. 4 seed for this weekend's WWPA Championships in Los Angeles. They will take on five-seeded Air Force in tomorrow's opening round at 1:30 p.m. PT.
