Broncos Set To Compete At MPSF Invite At Stanford

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Santa Clara men's water polo is set to take part in their next tournament this weekend with a three-day stay in Stanford for the MPSF Invite. The 15th-seeded Broncos will take on No. 2 UCLA in the first round of action on Friday, Sept. 23, at 2:00 p.m. PT.

NOTES
• Santa Clara (2-3) is coming off a 2-2 record at the Princeton Invitational. After narrowly falling 9-8 against two ranked teams (No. 10 Princeton and No. 20 Navy), the Broncos won back-to-back matches on the final day of competition, taking down Iona 17-10 and Wagner 10-7.
• Sophomore Zach Fales scored six goals in the victory over Iona and leads the team with nine goals on the year. Ford Eldredge and Caedmon Fisher are right behind him with eight goals each.
• Goalkeeper Chase Zamborelli has made 48 saves in four games of action. He had a career-best 19 stops against No. 20 Navy.
• The Broncos return 17 players that saw the stat sheet in the 2021 season, including the top two goal scorers in Zach Fales (44) and Cody Ferguson (41), both of whom earned all-conference honors at season's end. 
• There are a total of seven newcomers on the roster this season. 
• Santa Clara is led by head coach Keith Wilbur, entering his 21st season at the helm of the program.
