SAN MATEO, Calif. - Santa Clara beach volleyball player Michelle Shaffer was named 2022 preseason All-West Coast Conference as voted by the league's seven head coaches, the league announced on Friday. The Broncos were selected to finish fourth by a vote of the same panel.
Shaffer closed out the shortened 2021 season with a 7-5 record. This season, the Bronco senior has compiled a 16-8 record thus far, topping the team in wins.
Players from only three schools were selected for the preseason all-conference team as LMU had five players, Pepperdine with four and Santa Clara with one.
LMU, the two-time defending conference champion, was picked to repeat for the 2022 WCC title.
