Women's Tennis Concludes Play at Cal Winter Invitational

BERKELEY, Calif.JennaMarie Gordon notched a singles victory in the third and final day of the Cal Winter Invitational on Sunday, downing Cal Poly's Emily Ackerman.

For Santa Clara women's tennis, it was the fourth win during the three-day tournament, winning two matches each in doubles and singles action.

Gordon needed three sets to take down Ackerman, 4-6, 7-6 (3), 1-0 (6) to pick up her second singles win of the tournament. 

Mariia Kozyreva of Saint Mary's earned the singles title by virtue of her 3-0 record at court one singles.  Tournament host, Cal's tandem of Haley Giavara and Valentina Ivanov were named the doubles champion based on their 2-0 record at court one doubles.  

NEXT UP: The Broncos host Nevada on Jan. 29 in the first dual match of the spring season.
