SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Santa Clara women's tennis got back on the winning track with a 4-0 sweep over UC San Diego on Thursday afternoon at the Degheri Tennis Center.
The Broncos (7-4) have now won six of their last seven contests after their five-match win streak was snapped earlier in the week against Cal Poly.
Jamie Schroer was part of the clinching wins in both doubles and singles. Giulia Hayer also won both her matches.
Schroer and Velizara Fileva secured the doubles point with their 6-4 win over Rachel Wagner and Adriana Tabares on court three.
In singles play, Santa Clara continued their momentum to roll past the Tritons (2-16) when Hayer blanked Shweta Kumar 6-0, 6-0 on court five to put the Broncos up 2-0.
JennaMarie Gordon followed suit with a 6-1, 6-2 triumph over Katelyn Vu on court two just finishing ahead of Schroer who also blanked her opponent, Naomi Nguyen 6-0, 6-0 on court three to give the Broncos a 4-0 win.
