SAN MATEO, Calif. — Two double-doubles, two road wins and averaging 4.00 kills per set earned Santa Clara University volleyball senior outside hitter Julia Sangiacomo the West Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week award Monday for the week of Nov. 7-13.
Sangiacomo posted back-to-back double-doubles while averaging 4.00 kills per set and hitting .326 during two road victories for Santa Clara. She was one of two Broncos with over 20 kills Thursday at Gonzaga, tallying 23 – her seventh 20-plus kills performance of the year. She hit .409 in that match to go along with her 23 kills and tied a career high with 18 digs for a double-double.
Sangiacomo led Santa Clara on Saturday at Portland with 17 kills and notched her sixth double-double of the year with 10 digs. She also tied a season high with five blocks and added three service aces. Sangiacomo had six total blocks, three aces and an assist for the week to go with her offensive totals.
