AS A SOPHMORE (2016-17): Competed in all 10 events … accumulated an average of 75.77 per round, fifth highest on the team… in both the USF Olympic Intercollegiate (Sept. 12-13) and Fighting Irish Gridiron Golf Classic (Oct. 9-11), he finished 61st overall… at the Mark Simpson Invitational (Sept. 26-27), he shot a career-best 68, finishing 76th overall at 8-over 224 … at the Saint Mary’s Invitational (Oct. 24-26), he finished 46th overall at a 14-over 227 … had his best finish at the PING Cougar Classic (April 10-11) where he tied for 33rd with scores of 78-69-72 (219) … finished in 45th at the WCC Championship (April 20-22).
FRESHMAN (2015-16): Appeared in six of 10 events for SCU ... 75.56 season scoring average ... played well, shooting a second round 71 in his first collegiate event, the Itani Quality Homes Collegiate (Sept. 28-29) ... lowest round was a 68 in the second round of the National Invitational (Feb. 28-March 1) ... also shot a 72 and 74 in the first and third rounds, respectively, of the National Invitational to finish tied for 16th - his best finish of the season ... also posted a second-round 72 in the Cabo Del Sol Intercollegiate (Oct. 4-6) ... competed in the WCC Championship (April 18-20) where he finished tied for 42nd.
HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Upper Canada College in Toronto … two-sport athlete (golf, hockey) … shot a 66 in the final round of the 2013 Mizuno National Championships … qualified for the provincial championships as a freshman … played and excelled on the AJGA junior tour in 2014 and 2015.
PERSONAL: Son of Greg and Karen Watson … has one younger brother, Jack … notes photography and music as hobbies … involved in three school plays as a prep junior and senior … plans to study in the Leavey School of Business.
