SANTA CLARA, Calif. - After a marquee victory over No. 48 Boise State that highlighted a ITA Kickoff Weekend in which the Broncos split their matches, No. 50 Santa Clara (3-1) will continue its streak of playing ranked opponents away from the Degheri Tennis Center as they travel to Fresno, Calif. to battle No. 35 Fresno State on Sun., Feb. 5 at 12 pm.

The Broncos
No. 50 Santa Clara enters its third week after splitting matches at a tough ITA Kickoff Weekend in Palo Alto, Calif. … Santa Clara picked up an important win over No. 48 Boise State before dropping Sunday's match to No. 6 Stanford.
Senior Kyle Dandan picked up a top-notch victory over No. 31 James Meredith (Boise State).
Senior Nicolas Vinel (Joinville, France) continues to be an interregnal piece to the squad. Vinel posted strong numbers in the fall season, advancing to the semi-finals at the Gael Classic in Moraga, Calif. and is tied for a team-high six singles victories.
In a three-set match, Tom Pham (pictured) picked up the only Bronco victory against Stanford with a 4-6, 7-6(2), 7-6 comeback victory against Robert Stineman.
John Lamble is currently tied for the most wins on the team (6).
Fresno State
The Fresno State men's tennis squad comes into the matchup with Santa Clara after splitting its ITA Kickoff Weekend matches in Los Angeles, Calif. … The No. 35 Bulldogs downed No. 40 UC Irvine 4-0 on the first day of the weekend before falling to No. 4 UCLA 4-0.
Fresno State is gunning to repeat as the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) champions. The Bulldogs have five international players on their eight-man squad.
Fresno State is led by eighth-year head coach Jay Udwadia (Arkansas '97).

All-Time Highs
Just two weeks into the spring season, Santa Clara has already been setting all-time marks this season. The Broncos began the season at a school-best No. 50 in the ITA rankings, the highest ever to begin the season … the doubles tandem of Vinel/Dandan opened the fall with the best-ever doubles ranking in school history as the nation's No. 37 tandem.
Global Perspectives
The Broncos tennis program has players and coaches from seven countries, including players from five countries and two international coaches. The SCU team boasts players from five different countries including the U.S., France, Japan, Russia and the Philippines. The coaching staff is also a mix of internationals including first-year assistant coach, Jose Hilla who is from Oviedo, Spain and third-year assistant Jakub Cech is from Prague, Czech Republic.
