No. 37 Santa Clara Men's Tennis Tops No. 50 UCSB 7-0

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - After a 7-0 win at UC Irvine on Saturday, the No. 37 Santa Clara men's tennis team continued its dominant weekend with a decisive 7-0 victory at No. 50 UC Santa Barbara. The Broncos have shut down three consecutive opponents 7-0 dating back to Pacific on Feb. 26. 

Santa Clara returns to home to the Mission Campus for a three-match week. The Broncos host Yale on Thurs., Mar. 8 and host two matches Sat., Mar. 10 against Idaho and Sonoma State. 

At UCSB, senior Kyle Dandan won in three sets against Matt Forget. Dandan, who is currently No. 106 in the ITA singles rankings, defeated Forget 6-4, 4-6, 7-5. Sophomore John Lamble continued his excellence in the No. 2 spot, picking up his sixth straight victory.

The Broncos would show their determination picking up four straight three-set victories. Senior Nico Vinel, Tom Pham, Ilya Osintsev and Eugene Muchynski all hung on to win in three sets.

In doubles play, the Broncos picked up two victories to secure the sweep. Osintsev and Lamble teamed up for an 8-6 victory, while the duo of Pham and Dandan added a 8-4 win.
