No. 34 Santa Clara Bests USF 7-0

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -  The No. 34 Santa Clara men's tennis squad improved to 16-4 this season with a 7-0 victory over West Coast Conference and Bay Area foe USF. The Broncos swept singles play and won two doubles matches on the way to the 7-0 win.       

In singles, No. 111 Kyle Dandan picked up a solid victory over No. 107 Thai Tu 6-4, 6-2. In the No. 2 spot, John Lamble added a singles point for the Broncos by besting Germain Bahri 6-3, 6-1. Senior Nicolas Vinel and junior Tom Pham both posted wins in the No. 3 and No. 4 spot, respectively. Junior Eugene Muchynski won his bout in straight sets at No. 6 singles. Freshman Ilya Ostinsev pushed his winning streak to 13 straight matches by topping William Schumaker 6-3, 6-3 at No. 5.

In doubles, the Broncos took two of three matches to add the doubles point. The tandem of Dandan and Pham picked up the first Santa Clara win before Muchynski and Vinel secured the 7-0 Bronco win.
