PRINCETON, New Jersey - Santa Clara men's water polo (2-3) took two games at the Princeton Invitational on Sat., Sept. 10 for its first wins of the 2011 season. The Broncos beat St. Francis (N.Y.) by a score of 11-10 in the morning and topped Brown 6-5 in the evening. In both games Santa Clara was down halfway through the third quarter only to comeback and win.

"I was very happy with how we came back in both games against good competition," said head coach Keith Wilbur. "I thought we showed good character in overcoming the deficits. It was good to win a couple games like that after traveling back east."

In the first game of the day Daley Meistrell shined for the Broncos. He collected five assists and two steals. Meistrell led the team in assists in 2010. Theo Nasser drew three kick-outs to contribute to the win. James Case scored three goals and Meistrell added two of his own to pace the offense. Goalie Michael Wishart, however, may have had the most impressive game. He registered 10 saves and added two assists.

In the second Bronco game on the day Wishart again had a big game. He recorded 12 saves, five steals and added an assist. James Case drew four kick-outs while also adding a goal. Jimmy Moore scored two goals to lead the Bronco offense.
