Santa Clara, Calif. – The No. 64 Santa Clara women's tennis team wrapped up the double header on the Degheri Courts with a 5-2 win today over Nevada. The Broncos are 11-2 overall and 3-0 in the WCC.
No. 110 Freshman Katie Le improved to 13-0 at the singles one spot, defeating Nevada's Michelle Okhremchuk, 6-2, 6-2. The Broncos dropped the number two and three doubles matches, but then won all but one singles match in straight sets.
"The girls showed a lot of competitiveness today in coming back from losing the doubles point," said head coach Ben Cabell. "I thought we played really well in singles, and we really showed why we deserve the national ranking."
The Broncos' next match up is Sunday, March 13, at 11:00 a.m. vs. Northern Colorado. Stay tuned for updates.
