Davis, Calif. – The Santa Clara women's tennis team defeated No. 56 UC Davis 5-2 today, marking the first Bronco victory over a current nationally ranked team during head coach Ben Cabell's tenure. The Broncos are 14-4 overall and 4-2 in WCC entering their last regular season match vs. USF tomorrow at 12 noon.
"I'm really proud of how the girls played today, and so happy that all our hard work throughout the season is paying off," said Cabell.
The Broncos conceded the doubles point, but won all save one singles match to secure the 5-2 victory. "We played really well toward the end of sets, and our ability to execute down the line really contributed to our success today."
