Santa Clara, California- The Santa Clara women's tennis team (13-4; 3-2 WCC) defeated San Jose State's squad today 6-1.
The Broncos won all but one singles match and two of three doubles matches to secure the 6-1 victory over the Spartans. "San Jose State is obviously a rivalry match, and they are always tough," said head coach Ben Cabell. "We are really excited to get a win against such a solid team."
Cabell switched up pairings today, putting Maggie McGeorge and Kelly Lamble at the No. 3 doubles position and Alex Zaniewski and Jessica Agra at the top doubles spot. "The girls worked through some new combinations today, and did a great job of adjusting."
With just three matches left in the spring season before the WCC Tournament, the Broncos hope to sweep the rest of WCC play beginning with Portland this coming Sunday at 10:00 a.m. on the Degheri Courts.
