Santa Clara, Calif.—The No. 57 Santa Clara women's tennis team travels to San Diego today to play in the West Coast Conference Championship Tournament. The Broncos (16-4 overall and 5-2 in WCC) take on Gonzaga tomorrow, Thursday April 21, at 8:00 a.m. at the Barnes Tennis Center.
If victorious, the Broncos play the winner of the No. 1 USD vs. No. 8 USF matchup Friday at 11:30 a.m. To access the complete WCC Championship Bracket click here.
Last week, the Bronco squad received its highest every national ranking at No. 57, and enters the WCC tournament ranked No. 4. Gonzaga is 10-10 overall and 1-1 in WCC. The Bulldogs ended the regular season 1-1, losing to Utah State but beating Idaho in Spokane.
"They earned the No 5 seed and are a tough team," said head coach Ben Cabell of the Bulldogs. "We need to play hard in order to beat them. Anything can happen on any given day in the conference tournament."
