Santa Clara, Calif. - The Santa Clara women's tennis team will host the Northern Colorado Bears of the Big Sky Conference this Sunday, March 13, at 11:00 a.m. The Broncos are 11-2 overall and 3-0 in the WCC.
Although the Broncos recently dipped out of the national rankings, they have reached mid-season with just two losses and a .846 winning percentage. The girls look to stay grounded in their experience to ensure future success.
"Almost every player has a year of experience under their belt, and I think that helps being able to adapt to certain situations," said head coach Ben Cabell. "We've been playing really well, so we hope to keep it rolling."
The Bears (4-8 overall and 1-3 in Big Sky) are coming off a recent 6-1 victory over Eastern Washington, and will begin their California road trip against San Francisco this Saturday before coming south to face Santa Clara.
"We had a close match with them two years ago, so we know they are a good team," said Cabell. "We've got dead week and finals coming up, so we need to make sure we are also prepared and focused on tennis on Sunday."
