Dick Davey, on game: "You have to give Loyola Marymount a lot of credit. They hung in there all game and made a lot of tough shots against us. They really ground it out at the end and made the plays when they needed them."
Davey, on second half lead: "We came all the way back and got up four or five points on them in the second half. They would not stop playing though, and they played smart at the end. We had a decent effort, but we could have closed them down defensively a little more."
Davey, on Kaempf's shot at the end of the game: "We were trying to get the ball in the post at the end there. Joey (Kaempf) got the ball and he also had the option to shoot if he was open. To his credit he had a good look so he took the shot and it just didn't go in."
Danny Pariseau, on LMU's inside play: "They played us tough tonight and Matthew Knight was a load in the post. We needed to a better job on their guards and not let them get the ball inside as easily as they did."
Pariseau, on second half: "They have been a good second half team all year kind of like us. We knew that they would not go away in the second half. They had lost a lot of close games in the league and they kept going right to the end. It just came down to a few plays here and there."
Pariseau, on WCC race: "Saint Mary's and Gonzaga are playing really well right now, so it was a tough loss for us today. Now we have to go out and win our games and hope that they slip up somewhere along the line. Pepperdine is here Monday and we have to be ready for that game."
