Next Up for the Broncos
Santa Clara University concludes a three game stretch against WAC opponents as the Broncos face the University of Hawai'i on Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. PT at the Leavey Center. SCU split its first two games against WAC competition, losing to Nevada and beating San Jose State. Last season, the Rainbow Warriors beat Santa Clara 67-57 in Honolulu in a BracketBusters game. The Broncos then play Alabama State on Friday, Dec. 1 and Missouri State on Saturday, Dec. 2 in the Price Cutter Classic in Springfield, Mo.
Last Game for the Broncos
Santa Clara rebounded from a loss to Nevada with a convincing 71-53 win over San Jose State on Monday. Josh Higgins was perfect from the field (8-for-8) and scored 16 points, while Danny Pariseau had 15 points and eight assists. The Broncos led by as many as 21 in the second half to win their third game of the season. SCU's vaunted defense held San Jose State to just 26 percent shooting from the field as the Broncos won for the ninth time in 10 games against the Spartans.
Head Coach Dick Davey
In his 15th season as the head coach at Santa Clara, Dick Davey has compiled a career record of 233-182 (112-84 WCC), which includes three 20-win seasons. Davey has also posted a 132-59 record at home for a .691 winning percentage. He owns the most WCC wins among active coaches and is the first Bronco coach to lead Santa Clara to four 10-plus win seasons in WCC play. A three-time conference Coach of the Year, Davey has coached Santa Clara to three regular season league titles, one WCC Tournament title, three NCAA Tournament appearances and five wins over top-25 teams. Davey served as a Bronco assistant for 15 seasons (1977-92) under former head coach and athletic director Carroll Williams and is a member of the prestigious Board of Directors for the National Association of Basketball Coaches.
Bronco's 100th Season
2006-07 marks the 100th season of men's basketball at Santa Clara. The basketball team at Santa Clara first started in 1905 and became a varsity sport in 1917-18. In their 99 seasons, SCU has had seven All-Americans, 15 postseason appearances (11 NCAA, 4 NIT), three WCC Coaches of the Year, and one visit to the Final Four (1951-52). In 2006-07, the Broncos again face some of the top competition in the country as they attempt to earn their 16th postseason appearance.

Santa Clara is 19-12 all-time in games played in Hawai'i and 13-6 in games played in Honolulu.
Long Time
The Broncos have not faced the University of Hawai'i at home in a long time. The last time the two teams met in the Bay Area was the 1961-62 season. The teams played two games on Dec. 18 and 19 at the San Jose Civic Auditorium with the Broncos winning both games 66-50 and 67-53 respectively. Overall, SCU is 5-0 at home against the Rainbow Warriors. The teams have never met at the Leavey Center.
Career Highs vs. Spartans
Monday night proved to be a banner night for the Broncos as four players had career nights. Center Josh Higgins scored a career high 16 points against San Jose State on 8-for-8 shooting from the field, while power forward Sean Denison pulled down 13 rebounds to set his own personal best. The backcourt duo of Brody Angley and Danny Pariseau also had career nights. Angley tied his career high with nine assists against SJSU, egualing his total from Dec. 17, 2005 against North Carolina. Pariseau, meanwhile, equaled career highs in both points (15) and assists (8) against the Spartans.
Double Doubles
Forward Sean Denison continued his strong play against San Jose State as he posted a double double against the Spartans with 12 points and 13 rebounds. He is the third player on SCU to post double digits in points and rebounds this year. Mitch Henke had 11 points and 11 rebounds against Holy Names on Nov. 14, while center John Bryant had 10 points and 11 rebounds against Nevada on Nov. 25.
Higgins Equals Output
Through the first four games of the season, center Josh Higgins had scored 16 points. However, on Monday against San Jose State, he scored 16 points to equal his total for the season. He also shot a perfect 8-for-8 from the floor in the game. The last time a Bronco did not miss from the floor when taking at least five shots was Nov. 23, 2004. Tristan Parham shot 6-for-6 from the floor against Pacific on the road on that date.
Rivalry Series
With a win over the Spartans on Monday, SCU extended its lead in the annual Rivalry Series between San Jose State and Santa Clara. The Series was created in 2002 and the Broncos have won it every year. The Broncos now lead 12.5 - 3.5.
Backcourt Combo
Senior Danny Pariseau and junior Brody Angley have proven to be a dangerous combination in the backcourt together. The pair has started the past four games together and in those games, both players have averaged over five assists a game. For the season, they are combining for 16.6 points, 11 assists and 6.2 rebounds per game from the guard spots. The pair has also combined for 11 steals on the season.
Rohe Lights Up Hawai'i
Senior guard Brandon Rohe had one of his best games last year season against Hawai'i, posting 13 points against the Rainbow Warriors on Feb. 18, 2006. He knocked down three three-pointers and also grabbed three rebounds in the game.
Pariseau Takes Care Of Ball
Senior transfer Danny Pariseau has made an immediate impact this season for the Broncos. Through five games, the former Eastern Washington point guard has dished out 28 assists and committed only sevn turnovers, while also averaging 10.0 points per game, good for second best on the team.
Home and Away
The Broncos have started the season with a stretch of five out of six games at home, including three home games in five days that began last Saturday against Nevada. Following the game against Hawai'i on Nov. 29, SCU then plays five out of six games on the road, beginning with the Price Cutter Classic in Springfield, Mo. on Dec. 1 and 2.
WAC Week
The Broncos are in the midst of playing three Western Athletic Conference teams in five days at the Leavey Center. After beating San Jose State 71-53 on Monday, the Broncos are 1-1 in the first two games of the stretch. They lost 78-70 against Nevada on Saturday. Last season, the Broncos split two games against WAC opponents, beating San Jose State 47-46 and losing to Hawai'i 67-57.
Kaempf Out
Senior guard Joey Kaempf has missed the past two games with a foot injury after making his season debut against California on Nov. 20. The senior guard previously missed the game on Nov. 14 against Holy Names due to a concussion.
Parham Surgery
Senior forward Tristan Parham had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee on Tuesday morning and is expected to be out of action for 2-3 weeks. Parham missed all of last year with knee problems, but played in the first four games this season. He did not play against San Jose State on Monday night.
Beating the Spartans
With the win over San Jose State on Monday night, SCU now has won nine of the past 10 meetings against their local rivals.
Angley Aims For Top 10
Junior point guard Brody Angley has 27 assists on the season, giving him 250 career assists and leaving him less than 100 assists away from cracking the Broncos all-time top 10 in that category. He needs 59 assists to pass Chris Lane (1984-88) and move into 10th all time.
