Broncos Wrap Up
Santa Clara finished the season with a 21-10 record and a 10-4 mark in the West Coast Conference. The Broncos did not earn an invite to the postseason despite having their best season since 2000-01 when the team finished 20-12. SCU finished second in the WCC in the regular season after being picked in the preseason coaches poll to finish sixth and reached the WCC Tournament championship game before losing to Gonzaga 77-68. The team's 21 wins were tied for the fifth most in Santa Clara history and the most since 1994-95.

Head Coach Dick Davey
Dick Davey compiled a career record of 251-190 (122-88 WCC) in his 15 seasons at SCU, including four 20-win seasons. Davey also posted a 141-62 record at home for a .695 winning percentage. He is now second in WCC wins and is the first Bronco coach to lead Santa Clara to five 10-plus win seasons in WCC play. A four-time conference Coach of the Year, Davey coached Santa Clara to three regular season league titles, one WCC Tournament title, three NCAA Tournament appearances and five wins over top-25 teams. Davey served as a Bronco assistant for 15 seasons (1977-92) under former head coach and athletic director Carroll Williams and is a member of the restigious Board of Directors for the National Association of Basketball Coaches. Davey announced his retirement on Feb. 1, 2007.

Bronco's 100th Season
2006-07 marks the 100th season of men's basketball at Santa Clara. The basketball team at Santa Clara first started in 1905 and became a varsity sport in 1917-18. In their 99 seasons, SCU has had seven All-Americans, 15 postseason appearances (11 NCAA, 4 NIT), three WCC Coaches of the Year, and one visit to the Final Four (1951-52). In 2006-07, the Broncos again faced some of the top competition in the country. To celebrate 100 seasons of basketball, the Broncos hung a number of former Bronco's jerseys in the rafters of the Leavey Center this year. Bob Feerick had his No. 5 put in rafters on Jan. 6, alongside Steve Nash's No. 11, which was hung on Sept. 18 at the Santa Clara Convocation. Joining Feerick and Nash this season were Ken Sears (Jan. 27), Nick Vanos (Jan. 29), Dennis Awtrey (Feb. 5) and Bud Ogden (Feb. 5). Kurt Rambis' No. 34 will be raised in a future season as his duties as assistant coach for the Los Angeles Lakers did not allow him time to come back this year.

All-WCC
The WCC announced its All-WCC honorees on Feb. 27 and Santa Clara was well represented. Head coach Dick Davey was named WCC Coach of the Year for the fourth time. He also won in 1993, 1995 and 1997. Senior Sean Denison was named Co-Player of the Year and All-WCC First Team. The last Bronco to win the POY award was Marlon Garnett in 1997. Seniors Scott Dougherty and Danny Pariseau also earned spots on the first team and Pariseau became the first Bronco ever to be named WCC Newcomer of the Year. Junior Brody Angley was named All-WCC Honorable Mention. Santa Clara had never had three first-team All-WCC players in one season. In 1968-69, SCU had two All-WCC First Team players, Dennis Awtrey and Bud Ogden, and one second team selection, Ralph Ogden. In 1980, the WCC eliminated the second team all conference and put 10 players on the first team.

Denison Awards
Senior Sean Denison earned a number of postseason accolades. Along with being named WCC Co-Player of the Year and All-WCC, he was also named USBWA All-District IX and Collegeinsder.com's WCC Player of the Year. Including Denison, seven Broncos have been named WCC Player of the Year, Marlon Garnett ('97), Steve Nash ('95, '96), Kurt Rambis ('80), Mike Stewart ('72), Dennis Awtrey ('69, '70) and Ken Sears ('53, '55).

Bryant, Pariseau in Top-10
Danny Pariseau had five assists against Gonzaga on March 5 to push his season total to 147. That total places him in eighth all-time in assists for a single season in Santa Clara history. John Bryant blocked 49 shots this season, surpassing his 37 from the 2005-06 season. Bryant's total is the third highest single season total in school history. He surpassed Jens Gordon (1987-88), who had 48. For his career, Bryant now has 86 blocks, a total that places him fourth all-time in blocks in SCU history. He is seven behind Kurt Rambis (1976-80), who had 93 in his career.

Big D
Santa Clara led the conference by allowing just 63.1 points per game and holding opponents to .398 shooting. The Broncos had not led the league in scoring defense since 1991 when they allowed 70.0 ppg. 63.1 is the lowest point total allowed in the WCC since 2000 when San Diego held opponents to 62.6 ppg. 2006-07 marked the second straight year that SCU led the league in field percentage defense. The team held opponents to .406 shooting last year.

Conference D
SCU played great defense in conference games also, allowing 63.9 points per game, while holding opponents to .394 shooing. Both marks led the league. The Broncos had not led the league in defense since 1997 when opponents scored 63.0 ppg vs. SCU. They had not led the league in field goal percentage defense since 1999 when opponents shot .403.

Dougherty's Remarkable Year
Following the Broncos 12th game of the year against Kentucky on Dec. 19, senior Scott Dougherty was averaging 4.0 points per game coming off the bench. However, the Portland, Ore. native exploded after that. He scored a career high 16 points on Dec. 23 vs. Utah State, hitting four 3-pointers and he did not look back. He moved into the starting lineup on Dec. 28 against Colgate following an injury to Mitch Henke and was a key contributor to the Broncos' 21 wins. As a starter, he averaged 13.5 points per game to raise his average to 9.9 overall on the season. In conference games, he scored 14.9 ppg and was named All-WCC First Team. Prior to this season, Dougherty's career scoring average was 1.9 ppg, but he raised it all the way to 5.0 ppg. Against Gonzaga on Feb. 12, he shot a perfect 7-for-7 against the Zags and scored a career high 23 points to help SCU break Gonzaga's 50-game home winning streak and 56-game winning streak in Spokane, Wash.

Angley In Top 10
Junior point guard Brody Angley had 119 assists on the season, giving him 342 career assists. He is now in eighth all-time at SCU after passing Chris Lane (1984-88), Mitch Burley (1985-89) and Melvin Chinn (1988-92). Harold Keeling (1981-85) ranks eighth with 344.

Dougherty's Last Six
Scott Dougherty had a great run over his last six games. In those games, he averaged 17.2 points per game on 61 percent shooting from the field. From beyond the arc, he shot .471, while also shooting 83 percent from the line. He started the stretch with a career high 23 points against Gonzaga on Feb. 12. The Portland, Ore. native shot 7-for-7 from the floor that night and 4-for-4 on 3-pointers.

Academic Broncos
Santa Clara had four players named to the WCC All-Acamic team this winter. Scott Dougherty, Mitch Henke, Joey Kaempf and Danny Pariseau all earned the honor. Henke was also named ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VIII.

Bryant Leads Way
Sophomore John Bryant had a stellar end to the season for SCU in the WCC Tournament. He netted 13 points and had six rebounds in the championship game against Gonzaga, while also recording three blocked shots. In the semifinals, he scored 14 points in a win over Saint Mary's, while grabbing six rebounds and recording two blocks. On the final weekend of the regular season, he started his hot streak. He scored 20 points to tie a career high against Loyola Marymount on Feb. 24 and followed that effort with 26 against Pepperdine on Feb. 26. He also grabbed 13 rebounds against the Waves for his fifth double-double of the year. Those big games moved his average to 10.3 points per game, second on the team.

Davey A Finalist
Santa Clara head coach Dick Davey was a finalist for the Hugh Durham Mid-Major Coach of the Year award, presented by Collegeinsider.com. Davey was one of 15 finalists for the award. This season he was twice named mid-major coach of the week. He was named WCC Coach of the Year by Collegeinsider.

Davey Ties Career High
Dick Davey's team has reached 21 wins this season, tying his career high for wins in a season. Davey's 1994-95 team posted a 21-7 mark. The 21 wins ties this year's team for fifth all-time in SCU history in single season wins. The all-time record is 27, set in 1968-69.

Rohe Hits Century Mark
Senior guard Brandon Rohe played in his 100th career game on Feb. 5 against San Francisco. He came off the bench in that game against the Dons.

Putting On The D
Santa Clara shut down the Gaels offense on March 4 in the WCC semifinals. SCU held the Gaels to .305 from the field and just 47 points. The Gaels also shot just 3-for-22 from beyond the arc, the second worst three-point shooting game against SCU this season. The Gaels shot .136 percent, just behind the .105 that San Diego shot on Jan. 20. Teams shot just .328 on threes against Santa Clara this season.

Snapping Streak
Santa Clara had lost four straight games against Saint Mary's in the WCC Tournament prior to the game on March 4, including losses in 2005 and 2006. SCU snapped that losing streak with its 63-47 win on March 4.

Under 50
By shutting down Saint Mary's on March 4, the Santa Clara Broncos held seven opponents to under 50 points in a game in 2006-07, breaking the record for a season under Dick Davey. In 1999-2000, the Broncos held six opponents to under 50 points. No other SCU team under Davey held more than two opponents to under 50 points in the same season.

Steak Busters
Santa Clara snapped Gonzaga's 50-game home court winning streak with its 84-73 win on Feb. 12. Gonzaga also had a 56-game winning streak in Spokane broken that included games played at the Spokane Arena.

Holding Zags Down
SCU held Gonzaga to its worst shooting night of the season at the time on Feb. 12. The Zags shot just 38 percent from the field in the game, including 30 percent in the first half and only 30 percent from beyond the arc.

Last Win at Gonzaga
Santa Clara had not won at Gonzaga since Feb. 24, 1996 prior to its 84-73 win on Feb. 12. The Broncos had lost 10 straight games in Spokane to the Zags. Overall, SCU snapped a 13-game losing streak to Gonzaga with the win. The last win against Gonzaga came on Feb. 22, 2001.

Hitting Threes
Santa Clara shot 11-for-18 against Gonzaga on Feb. 12 from beyond the arc, the team's best 3-point shooting performance of the season. The Broncos hit 61 percent, surpassing the 11-for-19 performance on Jan. 27 against LMU.

10 Conference Wins
Santa Clara won its 10th conference game by defeating San Diego on Feb. 17. Dick Davey has now coached five teams to 10 win seasons in conference. The Broncos last reached 10 conference wins in 2001. Santa Clara has now doubled last season's five conference wins. The 10-2 start was the best start by the Broncos since opening WCC play 11-1 in 1994-95.

Davey's Last Home Game
Santa Clara head coach Dick Davey went out an 80-72 winner in his final home game as head coach on Feb. 17 vs. USD. While Davey did not want to be formally honored before the game because he wanted the focus to be on the seniors on Senior Night, he was recognized after the game. He returned to the court to a standing ovation and gave a bouquet of flowers to his wife, Jeanne. Davey will be honored by Santa Clara on April 25 at a reception for Davey in the Mission Garden at Santa Clara. The event will be open to the public.

Shooting
The 2006-07 Broncos were the best shooting team under Dick Davey in his 15 years at Santa Clara. The Broncos shot .464 from the field and .364 from 3-point range. The next best shooting team under Davey was the 1994-95 team that shot .441 from the field and .390 from 3-point range. In conference games, the Broncos shot .488 from the field and .419 from beyond the arc. Individually, Sean Denison led the team at .591 in all games, a number that places him 10th all-time for single season field goal percentage in school history. Scott Dougherty shot shooting .420 on threes for the year, a percentage that puts him in seventh place all-time in school history for 3-point shooting percentage for a single season.

Leading the WCC
The Broncos shot .421 from 3-point range to lead the WCC in that category for the first time in school history. SCU also led the league in assists per game at 15.14.

More Conference Only Stats
In the WCC regular season Scott Dougherty led the team in scoring at 14.9 points per game, while making 41 three-pointers, good for second in the league. He placed sixth in scoring in league games. Sean Denison led the conference with an amazing .641 field goal percentage in conference games. Fellow Bronco John Bryant led the conference a year ago at .623. Denison also finished third in the league in rebounds at 7.6 per game. Danny Pariseau averaged 5.36 assists a game in conference, good for second in the league.

Beating Stanford
The Broncos' win over Stanford was their second straight against the Cardinal after beating them 86-76 in 2004-05. The 16-point margin of victory was the biggest since Jan. 26, 1957 when SCU defeated Stanford 77-61. The margin of victory was the second largest ever for Santa Clara at Stanford. Prior to the win in 2004-05, SCU had lost eight straight to Stanford. Also, Santa Clara had not beaten a Pac-10 opponent on the road since Nov. 29, 1997 when Dick Davey's squad beat Oregon 67-58. SCU had not beaten Stanford on the road since a 72-71 win on Dec. 1, 1987.

Shutting Down Big Scorers
Santa Clara faced two of the top-10 scoring leaders in Division I this season in Rodney Stuckey and Jaycee Carroll. Both times, the Broncos held them to their lowest scoring output of the season at the time. On Dec. 11, Stuckey managed only a season-low 12 points in the Broncos' 91-68 win over Eastern Washington. On Dec. 23, Carroll scored a season-low 14 points as SCU won 77-75 knocking him down to 12th in the country in scoring.

20 Wins
Santa Clara reached 20 wins on Feb, 17 with its 80-72 win over San Diego. It was the fourth time that a Dick Davey-coached team had reached 20 wins. SCU last reached 20 wins in 2000-01.

NCAA Leaders
Prior to the NCAA Tournament and NIT, Santa Clara was among the nation's leaders in two statistical categories. The team was 18th in field goal percentage defense at .398. The Broncos were also 29th in rebound margin at plus-5.2 per game.

VS. WAC Opponents
The Broncos played four Western Athletic Conference opponents this year and finished with a 3-1 record against them, beating San Jose State, Hawai'i and Utah State while losing to the Nevada Wolfpack. Against the eight current members of the WAC, SCU has earned a 154-71 record.

Peak Performers
Three Bronco seniors had outstanding final seasons for SCU. Scott Dougherty shot 41-for-87 from beyond the arc in conference games, a .471 percent clip. He came up just two 3-pointers shy of the Santa Clara record for three-pointers in a conference season. Steve Nash '96 made 43 in 1994-95. Dougherty's 3-point percentage broke the previous high of .455 set by Marlon Garnett '97 in the 1995-96 season. Danny Pariseau finished second in the WCC in assists at 4.74 per game, just .01 behind San Diego's Brandon Johnson for the league lead. Sean Denison has rarely missed from the field this season. Overall, he led the league at .591 from the field. The last time a Bronco led the league was in 1990-91 when Ron Reis shot .622.

Hot Streak
Santa Clara had its six-game winning streak broken on Feb. 24 with a 67-66 loss to LMU. SCU had won six in a row from Jan. 29-Feb. 17, their longest winning streak since 2003. Santa Clara last won six straight games from Nov. 26-Dec. 13, 2003. SCU had not won as many as six straight conference games since 1995 when the team won nine straight WCC games from Jan. 27-Feb. 24.

Broncos On The Road
Santa Clara dropped its final two road games of the conference season to finish at 5-2 on the road. This year was the first year since 1985 that SCU won five conference road games. The Broncos last won six conference road games in 1969 when the team went 6-0 on the road in conference play.

The Longest Day
The Broncos met at the Leavey Center on their campus to begin their trip to Springfield, Mo. at 5:45 a.m. PT on Nov. 30. Little did the team know that they would arrive in Springfield the next morning at 5:33 a.m. CT after 22 hours of travel. The Broncos took off from San Jose International Airport at 7:30 a.m. PT and arrived with no problems at Denver International Airport at 10:45 a.m. MT. However, after waiting for an hour for their flight to Springfield, the team learned that its flight had been canceled due to a snowstorm across the entire region. The coaching staff then began looking at different options: flying to Tulsa and taking a bus to Springfield, flying to St. Louis and busing to Springfield. In the end, the team caught a 6:45 flight that was delayed until 7:10 to Kansas City that arrived at about 9:45. The team then waited for the bus, which had driven through the snowstorm from Springfield to Kansas City. The bus arrived, but the team's bags had not been put onto its flight. Without their bags, the Broncos boarded the bus for Springfield. After a short pit stop for dinner at Denny's and a Waffle House, the Broncos got on the road at 12:25 and drove through a snowstorm for five hours to arrive at their hotel in Springfield at 5:33 a.m. CT, 14 hours after their scheduled arrival. The bags, which had come in on the next flight, arrived midmorning on Friday to complete the team's travel saga.

Four Sweeps
Santa Clara swept the season series from San Diego with its 80-72 win on Feb. 17. Santa Clara swept four WCC teams for the first time since 2000-01. Both this year and in 2000-01, SCU swept Portland, USF and Saint Mary's. In 2000-01, the Broncos also swept Loyola Marymount.

WCC Leaders
Individually and as a team, Santa Clara rankedamong the best in the West Coast Conference in a number of statistical categories in all games. As a team, SCU was first scoring defense (63.1), field goal percentage defense (.398), rebounding margin (+5.2), and assists (15.16). The Broncos were second in field goal percentage (.464) and assist-to-turnover ratio (1.02) . Sean Denison was first in the conference in field goal percentage at .591, while John Bryant (.528) was fifth. Bryant was seventh in rebounding at 6.7 per game, while Denison was eighth at 6.3. Bryant finished fourth in blocks at 1.58 per game. Danny Pariseau and Brody Angley were second and fourth in assists at 4.74 and 3.84 respectively. Pariseau and Angley were second and third in assist-to-turnover ratio at 2.10 and 1.68 respectively. Scott Dougherty and Pariseau were third and sixth in 3-point field goal percentage at .420 and .404 respectively.

Rebounding
Santa Clara outrebounded Gonzaga 38-35 on March 5 in the final game of the year. The Broncos outrebounded opponents in 22 out of 31 games. The team owned a plus-5.2 rebounding margin for the year. The Broncos grabbed more than 40 rebounds 10 times this season and outrebounded their foes 1121-961.

Sweep
Santa Clara swept the regular season series against Saint Mary's by winning 63-57 on Feb. 3. SCU has now swept six out of the past eight season series against the Gaels. The Broncos then beat San Francisco on Feb. 5 to sweep that series for the first time since the 2000-01 season. It is also the first time since 2000-01 that SCU has swept both Saint Mary's and USF in the same season. With the win in the WCC tournament over Saint Mary's on March 4 the Broncos finished 8-1 against the Bay Area colleges, California, Stanford, Saint Mary's, San Francisco, San Jose State and Pacific. The only loss came against Cal on Nov. 20.

Six In Double Figures
Santa Clara beat Pepperdine with a complete team effort on Jan. 29 as six Broncos scored in double figures. Scott Dougherty led the way with 14 points, but he was joined in double figures by Brody Angley (12), Joey Kaempf (11), John Bryant (10), Sean Denison (10) and Danny Pariseau (10). It was the first time since Feb. 25, 2006 against Loyola Marymount that the Broncos had more than five players in double figures. The last time SCU had six players in double figures was Nov. 25, 2002 against UC Santa Cruz at the Leavey Center.

Non-Conference Wins
The Broncos won their 10th non-conference game of the year against Colgate on Dec. 28, setting a new team record for non-league wins during head coach Dick Davey's tenure. Under Davey, the team record for non-conference wins was nine, set five times (1994-95, 1995-6, 1997-98, 1999-00 and 2002-03).

Big Rebounding Margins
The Broncos dominated the boards against San Diego on Jan. 22 grabbing 47 rebounds, while San Diego only pulled down 26. The plus-21 rebound margin in the game was the second largest this season behind only the plus-27 against Holy Names. The Broncos also outrebounded Hawai'i by 21 on Nov. 29.

Rankings
Santa Clara was ranked 12th in Collegeinsider.com's mid-major top-25 for the week of March 5. The poll is based on voting by coaches around the country.

Suffocating Defense
Santa Clara has had a number of stellar defensive performances this season. The Portland Pilots shot just .298 from the field and scored 53 points on Feb. 10. On Jan. 29 against Pepperdine, Santa Clara forced the Waves to shoot just 32 percent from the floor and 27 percent from 3-point land. Against USF on Jan. 22, the Broncos forced 18 turnovers and limited the Dons to 32 percent shooting in the second half. The Dons scored only 58 points in the game. Prior to that game, the Broncos held Portland to 41 points on Jan. 15 and limited San Diego to 47 points on Jan. 20. In both games, SCU had outstanding second half efforts, holding Portland to 14 points and San Diego to 16 points. USD shot 2-for-22 from the field in the second half (nine percent). The 41 points by Portland was the second lowest total this year for an opponent. The Broncos held Colgate to a season-low 39 points on Dec. 28. The last time that Santa Clara held an opponent to under 40 points was Dec. 27, 1988 in a 54-39 win over Fresno State. Dec. 28 was the first time that a Dick Davey-led team held an opponent under 40.

Big Second Halves
SCU has made a name for itself with big second halves this season. The Broncos led 36-28 at halftime against Portland on Feb. 10, but opened the second half with a 13-2 run to open up a 19-point lead. The Broncos eventually led by as many as 28 points before winning 76-53. Santa Clara dominated the second half in from Jan. 15-22 against Portland, USD and USF as they did a number of times earlier this season. Against Portland on Jan. 15, SCU turned a halftime tie into a 12-point lead with a 14-0 run early in the second half. The Broncos outscored Portland 30-14 in the second half and held the Pilots to 4-for-24 from the field. Santa Clara pulled the same trick on Jan. 20 against San Diego. Facing an eight-point deficit at halftime, the Broncos went on a 13-0 run in the opening minutes of the second half en route to a 61-47 win. SCU outscored San Diego 38-16 in the half and forced the Toreros to shoot 2-for-22 from the field. Against USF on Jan. 22, the Broncos held the Dons to just 28 second-half points and overcame a four-point halftime deficit. San Francisco shot 32 percent from the floor in the half.

More Big Second Halves
Santa Clara had some big second half performances earlier this year also. Against Pacific on Dec. 9, Santa Clara withstood an early run in the second half before outscoring the Tigers 16-1 to blow open the game and cruise to an 18-point win. SCU shot 54 percent in the second half to turn a close game into a rout. The Broncos repeated their second half success Dec. 11 against Eastern Washington. SCU scored on eight of its first nine possessions in the second half to turn a one-point lead into a 12-point advantage. Santa Clara went on to hit 56 percent of its shots in the second half to pull away to a 23-point win over the Eagles. Santa Clara also started slowly on Dec. 1 against Alabama State shooting 11-33 in the first half. However, Dick Davey's squad turned it around in the second half, shooting 76 percent after intermission (16-21) to turn a seven-point halftime lead into a 26-point victory.

15 Wins In January
By defeating the Pepperdine Waves on Jan. 29, SCU won its 15th game of the year. This season marked the first time since 1983 that the Broncos had 15 wins at the end of the month of January.

Moving to No. 2
Santa Clara head coach Dick Davey moved into second all-time in wins in West Coast Conference history following the Broncos victory over Saint Mary's on Jan. 6. He moved past former Gonzaga head coach Dan Fitzgerald, who has 112 wins. Davey finished his career with 122 conference wins, 43 wins behind former SCU head coach Carroll Williams, who won 165 WCC games from 1970-1992.

Broncos vs. Top-25 Opponents
Santa Clara lost to then-No. 23 Air Force in the Cable Car Classic championship on Dec. 29. Prior to that game Broncos last faced a top-25 team on Nov. 25, 2006 when they lost 78-70 to Nevada, which was ranked No. 21 at the time. SCU is 19-77 all-time against top-25 competition, while Dick Davey teams are 5-29 against the top-25.

Biggest Crowd
Santa Clara and Kentucky played in front of 21,961 fans on Dec. 19. That crowd is the largest crowd that Santa Clara has ever played in front of for a regular season game. The previous record was 20,225, set on Dec. 17, 2005 at the Dean E. Smith Center against the University of North Carolina.

Familiar Face
Bronco fans may have recognized a familiar face on the Broncos staff this season. Jamie Holmes, who played four seasons for the Broncos before graduating in 2001, was the team's director of basketball operations. Holmes averaged 9.8 points per game for his career, including 13.6 his senior season. In his final year, he helped lead SCU to a 20-win season playing alongside the school's No. 3 all-time leading scorer, Brian Jones. Following his time at Santa Clara, Holmes played professionally overseas, including stops in the Netherlands and Australia.

Experienced
The Broncos are lucky to count on five fifth-year players on this season's roster. Scott Dougherty, Joey Kaempf, Tristan Parham, Danny Pariseau and Brandon Rohe all entered college in the fall of 2002. Due to injuries or redshirting, all five players still remain and hope to make an impact in their final season at SCU. While Dougherty technically has another year of eligibility left, he will likely finish his career this season.

Kaempf Back Again
Last season walk-on Joey Kaempf was one of the feel-good stories of the year, earning a spot on the team after impressing coaches in a preseason game pitting a group of current students against some aspiring walk-ons. Kaempf impressed the coaches so much that they invited him to join the team even though he was not officially trying out. In his first season as a senior last year, Kaempf appeared in 24 games and started five. In the final game of the year against Saint Mary's at the WCC Tournament, he scored 21 points and pulled down seven rebounds. After such an inspiring season, the political science major opted to return to SCU for a fifth year in 2006-07. In his final season, he played 23 games and had a season high 13 points against Gonzaga on March 5 in the WCC Tournament Final, hitting four 3-pointers. He also hit three 3-pointers against Gonzaga on Feb. 12 in the Broncos upset of the Zags in Spokane.

WCC's Best Backfield?
The Broncos guard duo of Brody Angley and Calvin Johnson just might be one of the best football backfields in college basketball once again. The two combined for more than 11,000 yards of total offense in high school. Angley was the Northern Section's career leader with 4,650 total yards at Enterprise (Redding, Calif.) HS. Angley was recruited in high school by California's head coach Jeff Tedford. Johnson was an all-state quarterback and defensive back at Class A Morton (Texas) HS. He passed for 3,661 yards and rushed for 2,766 in two seasons and led the Indians to two playoff appearances.

Davey Wins At Home
Dick Davey owned a 141-62 home record in his 15-year career at Santa Clara for a .695 winning percentage. He recorded a 73-27 (.730) record in Toso Pavilion and a 68-35 (.660) mark in the Leavey Center since the state-of-the-art building "re-opened" on Dec. 13, 2000.

Davey Among Best Ever
Dick Davey owns the second-most wins for a Bronco head basketball coach in Santa Clara history. Davey, who surpassed Bob Feerick in 2005-06, owns a 251-190 overall record after 15 seasons at SCU. Carroll Williams is the all-time Santa Clara leader with a 344-274 mark in 22 seasons. Davey is also the second-longest tenured coach in SCU history, behind Williams and just ahead of Feerick.
