Dick Davey, on travel weariness: "I don't think that was much of an issue for us tonight. The players are young and they recovered well. We just did not play well in the first half but in the second half, we did a much better job. We shot the ball better in the second half also."
Davey, looking ahead to Missouri State: "They are a good team and they execute their offense very well. We have seen them on film a number of times so we know that they can shoot well and they play a very smart game. We will have to be ready for a tough game."
Scott Dougherty, on team's energy: "The team as a whole was not too affected by being in the airport all day and driving all night. Everybody came in with a lot of energy. We had a bit of a lull in the first half, but once we got through that, I thought that we played a pretty good game."
Dougherty, on grinding through games: "Coach Davey talked to us at halftime about playing harder and grinding through games like this and making the hustle plays. We definitely did a better job of that in the second half. Some guys like Danny Pariseau bring that every night and we all need to follow that example."
Dougherty, on second half shooting: "We did a better job of executing in the second half. The coaches talked to us about getting the ball inside and we were able to do that. We had a size advantage tonight and we were able to exploit that in the second half. Josh (Higgins), John (Bryant) and Sean (Denison) all did a good job of posting up and getting open."
Danny Pariseau, on firing team up: "I think one thing that the team might have lacked last year was a little fire and energy and I try to bring that. As a guard, my father always told me that it was my responsibility to get the team going. Tonight that was even more important since we were tired and did not get a lot of sleep."
